Optimising your site on search engines

Connecting Somerset are running workshops for small business people to learn to optomise their websites. I did not understand why my holisticlocal site was not coming up on searches AND its a simple solution. You register your website with search engines such as google and yahoo yourself, free. After a few weeks a 'crawler' comes and reads your site. With any luck you get listed. Example go to your google search bar, look underneath, click on 'about us' and go to business services, find website registration and you are off. Repeat with Yahoo etc. they share info apparantly. So get going and get higher up on those searches.Don't ask me any technical questions cause I don't know
